The taxonomic framework of the mammal DNA barcoding campaign essentially follows the third edition of Wilson and Reeder’s Mammal Species of the World (Don E. Wilson & DeeAnn M. Reeder (editors). 2005. Mammal Species of the World. A Taxonomic and Geographic Reference (3rd ed), Johns Hopkins University Press, 2,142 pp.). However, latest taxonomic revisions and newly described taxa will be incorporated to reflect the current state of taxonomy.
